Celebrating the World Braille Day, the MNMC introduced the project entitled ‘Accessible Scale Model. This multisensory instrument is presently available both for the sighted and the visually impaired, allowing them to grasp and explore the Roman cryoptoporticus. This project was developed with the support of the Museum’s volunteers and the cooperation of Coimbra’s ACAPO Office – the Portuguese Association for the Visually Impaired.

With the purpose of bringing together increasingly heterogeneous audiences, while promoting accessibility and inclusion, this proposal for an accessible communication vehicle intends to promote the ongoing participation of individuals with special needs in the daily life of the Museum.
